Living a healthy life is never something that should be approached with a seasonal attitude! However, it can feel much easier to be inspired towards a healthy way of living during certain seasons.
The rapidly approaching summer is one such time when many people may feel more inclined to get back on track with their diets and head to the gym more frequently. Whether you are just getting started with your efforts to live a healthier life, or if you have been at it for a while and need some fresh inspiration, then the following advice is for you!
Mix it up with Bodyweight Exercises
There is such a wide variety of exercises that you can do without any equipment at all by simply using your own bodyweight!
Some great bodyweight exercises to choose from are push ups, sit ups, squats, jumping jacks, mountain climbers and the plank – but there are also so many more to choose from!
The best thing about these exercises is that you can do them anywhere, anytime as they require zero equipment. Try taking a break at work to do a quick bodyweight workout in the office, or anywhere in your home first thing in the morning!

Get Going with Cardio
Adding more cardiovascular exercise into your routine can be done in so many different ways, and doesn’t necessarily have to take the form of deliberate exercise.
Walking or cycling to work when possible is an amazingly easy way to ensure that you get some cardiovascular exercise into your routine every single day. If you feel as though this isn’t possible because you work quite far away from your home, then you may consider doing this for a portion of the journey instead.
As you are walking during your regular day to day activities, you can try walking faster than you usually would to get your heart rate up. This can just be for a few moments at a time, or could also be for longer periods.
Stay Hydrated
Staying well hydrated is one of the simplest things you can do to help keep your body functioning well during the day. Additionally, we may often mistake thirst for hunger, and this can therefore cause us to over consume calories.
Keeping a bottle of water with you can help you to tackle dehydration and keep your appetite at bay between mealtimes also!

Try Mini Workouts
So many people don’t exercise much at all because they feel as though they have to spend hours in the gym to enjoy the benefits of doing so. The simple truth is that your body will thank you for any amount of exercise that you are able to undertake.
If you only have a spare 20 minutes to get your body moving, then that’s still a good start, and there are ways that you can really use that time wisely!
If you work your body at a high intensity for those 20 minutes then you will be boosting your heart rate and helping your body to burn through some calories. This can also spike your energy levels and help you to approach the rest of your day in a better mood!
Prepare Food in Advance
It might seem like a lot of extra work, but if you have some meals and snacks prepared for the day ahead then you are much less likely to snack on junk foods when you get hungry.
You can bulk prepare healthy meals for the week on one day and store them in the freezer, ready for when you need them. It’s also not much effort at all to prepare healthy snacks for yourself.
You can try mixing raw nuts in a bag and keeping it with you, or preparing a stash of dried fruit that you can take with you in small portions.
There are also a lot of store bought healthy snacks that you can buy and keep with you. Just be sure to always read the ingredients on any products that you are buying from the store so that you can always be entirely sure of what you are putting into your body.
Keep Track of your Food
When you really start to pay attention to the amount of food that you are eating, then it becomes much easier to be aware of where you need to make changes.
A food diary is a simple but effective way to always know what you have eaten during a day. You can then look back to see where you can cut back on calories and eliminate unhealthy foods from your diet.
Live Well
Remember, healthy living is something that you should embrace all year round – not just in the summer months!
