- Hike the Cross Timbers trail- On the south shore of lake Texoma, this popular local hiking trail (known as "The Toughest Little Trail in Texas") is consistently rated as one of the best trails in Texas. At roughly 15 miles, it is easy to make this a weekend or overnight adventure. Parking at either end is free and several camp sites exist along the path.
